Quebec reports 899 COVID-19 cases, 14 deaths as vaccine program expands

MONTREAL — Quebec is reporting fewer than 1,000 new cases of COVID-19 for the second day in a row, with 899 new infections.

Health officials today also reported 14 more deaths attributed to the novel coronavirus, including three in the last 24 hours.

They say hospitalizations rose by three, to 667, and 170 people were in intensive care, a rise of three.

Quebecers with physical or intellectual disabilities or autism can start booking vaccine appointments today.

The government is also announcing that companies in several more regions have decided to turn part of their workplaces into mass vaccination clinics. 

The province administered 45,757 doses of vaccine since the last update, for a total of 2,916,897.
