Derek Fildebrandt is the former Leader of the Freedom Conservative Party of Alberta, Wildrose Finance Critic, and MLA for Strathmore-Brooks.

He is married to his wife Emily, has one daughter, and two German Shepherds. He is a good fisherman, an adequate hunter, and a poor guitar player.

Fildebrandt served as both the Alberta Director and National Research Director of the Canadian Taxpayers Federation from 2009-2012.
