Kinew says it’s time to survey Manitobans on changing clocks

WINNIPEG — Premier Wab Kinew says Manitobans will be consulted on whether they should continue changing their clocks twice a year.

He says he and other politicians have been professionally and personally getting an earful about daylight time.

He says he was at a rink with other hockey parents for an early practice last weekend when clocks sprang ahead, and he wondered, “Why are we doing this?”

He says his wife also says it’s a stupid idea and that the inboxes of legislature members are full of comments from Manitobans about it.

He says consultation will likely take the form of a survey.

British Columbia recently announced it’s moving to year-round daylight time.
